A psychoanalysis of the dissociation of the Monistic Greek mentality, into the Dualism of Eastern (metaphysical) and Western (logical) parts.
Our cultural brothers and sisters of the Arabic world Al-Salam alaykom.
We both, Greeks and Arabs, share a common, inherited cultural and spiritual treasure, which constitutes the true essence of the human being and his existence. Namely, the notion and recognition of the Metaphysical (Hyperlogic, Unorthologic, ecstatic) element as the substance of the nature of the human being, which constitutes our jeweled mental, spiritual and cultural lnk. The metaphysical element of the human nature was initially inoculated within the human intellect by the prominent pre-Socratic Metaphysical Philosophers Heraclitus, Parmenides and Anaxagoras (7-6th ce. b.c.), who succeeded the great Eastern Ionian (Asia Minor) naturalistic philosophers of the 8th century B.C. ...
Their successors, Plato and his student Aristotle, were also both Metaphysical philosophers, the first asserted the abstract metaphysical entity of “Idea”, while Aristotele introduced the complementary concept of Form, along with Matter. They both differ, only in their proposed methods of revelation of the Metaphysical Idea of Truth (the Idea of all other Ideas). Specifically, Plato suggested that Truth can be revealed through human instinct and divine-metaphysical inspiration, in the form of the Erotic Desire-Pahtos (Eros), whereas Aristotele advocated the medium of Logic (Logos, orthologism).
As a consequence, the core of the Greek soul, heart and mentality, was and still is, Dualistic, constituted by an undivided mental pair of the Metaphysic and alloof Logic, the first prevaling the latter.
This inner prevelant Greek metaphysical soul-stream evolved and was further glorified within the ancient Eastern nations and civilizations, especially within the juxtaposed Arabic soul and hearts, mainly in the form of the common Christian-Islamic God-Father`s existence and the holly prophets.
In the cultural and religious context, the philosophical content of the Byzantine Empire was also deeply Metaphysical and this explains the mutual cultural and religious interactions and interrelations between the Arab and Byzantine world (see the Haram al-Sharifi: Dome of the Rock in the old city of Jerusalem).
Arabic philosophy, art theory and science were all also greatly influenced by the Greek classical antiquity.
First of all, the Arabic (Islamic) abstract gemetric aniconic art (religious and secular), is the visualization of the abstract Platonic geomtric objects of his Ideal world. Further, a galaxy of Arabic philosophers continued the clasic Greek philosophy in Aesthetics, in accordance to Aristotelean definition of art as “mimesis” of the nature, in the lives of: Al- Farabi (10th ce a.c), Ibn Sina Bukhar (Avicenna-12th ce), Ibn al Haitan (10th ce. a.c.), all introducing the classical concepts of proportion, harmony and isometry within Arabic art.
Furthermore, the great Caliph Al-Mamun (9th ce.a.c) created the Aristotelian rationalistic (orthologistic) faith of Mutazilites, the state religion, whereas the philosopher Al Kindi (9th ce) continued the Platonic tradition. On the other hand, Al-Farabi (9-10th ce) combined Aristotelic and Neo-platonic philosophy.
And we reach the zenith of Arabic thinking, in the live o Sina of Bukhara (Avicenna), who was philospher (The Book of Cure of the Soul) and a great physician (Canon Medicinae), as were also the Arabic-Christian Hunayn Ibn Ishaq (9th ce) and the Zakariya al-Razi (9th ce.), known as Rhazes in the West.
Τhese Greek-Arabic intellectual achievements were spread out to Medieval Western Europe through Andalousia and K. Italia and decisively and greatly contributed in the awakenenig of Europe from the Dark ages towards the Renaissance and later to Enlightment era.
We, of the Greek and Western World, are all very grateful to you, our Arabic brothers, for the development, advancement and transmission of the classic ideas and finally, also for your contribution to the intellectual and cultural awakening of the West.
That for the Metaphysical East. But what about the West? How it is influenced by the ancient Greek-Arabic philosophy?
Τhe Westerners, wrongly, prejudicially and unnaturally, dissociated the Metaphysical from the component of Logic part of the Aristotle`s ontology and philosphy. Having developed their cultural and religious Monistic civilization exclusively upon the Aristotelean Logic, f.e. by the Summa Theologica of Thomas Aquinus, the West totally rejected the Metaphysical element of the Eastern intellect.
And now the most crucial part of this introductory text. What about the modern Greeks, in this context?
Our essential mental and cultural Dualism (metaphyscs plus logic) was violently mentally and culturally dissociated, and its two fundamental elements severed, one from the ohter. Starting during the early 19th century, the inherent Eastern Metaphysical elemetn was totally undervalued and finally regjected by the Western Poewrs (France, England and lately the USA). In its place was implanted a Western-like Monism, which is exclusively composed of an austere form of Aristotelic Logic. Specifically, Dualism was replaced by a a mechanical, materialistic and economic Monistic dictate, forming an INHUMANE WESTERN way of thinking, living and functioning. The Dualistic Greek human being was violently transformed, disfigured and reduced to a mere Monistic ECONOMIC UNIT, which was taught to appreciate and value everything in terms of its relevant–if any-economic value.
There are no, anymore, economically unvalidated and unvalued Principles and Ideas within our westernize Greek “civilization”. This was the price, we Greeks, were called to pay for the assistance of the “great western powers” towards our liberation from 400 years of Turkish occupation.
Tragically, this broke out our cultural connections with our Eastern and Arabic Metaphysical past, but only superficially, as this severance was vigorously imposed upon us and did not reflect our real will and the true calliber, nature and quality of our internal dualistic soul and heart. Therefore, our deep inner essence is still Dualistic, mainly Metaphysical Eastern –Arabic.
This unatural, schizophrenic mutilation of the subtle Greek Dualistic consciousness into the Western Monistic one, constituted exclusively by Logic (economics, technology, orthologism), is the true cause, as well the fundamental problem, for being ourselves unable to function in accordance within the context of the Western orhtologism`s INHUMAN socioeconomic model. As a resulr of this, we suffer within the snares of the state, organization and socioeconomic functions the West offers.
Finally, the end result of this, externally imposed, negation of our Eastern-Arabic essence and severance from our natural connections, is the following:
The occupation of Greece by western barbaric, materialist hominoid conquerors, whose conquest of this ancient land was assited by native, sovereign traitors, i.e. each of the 300 members of Greek parliament, including the Greek “Primeminister” and the President of State.
Dear hearted Arab brothers: I have a dream: To separate and liberate Greece from, under the current conditions, Western-European cultural imprisonment and to usher her into a new politically, financially, socially and culturally allied community, which embraces the various Eastern-Metaphysical Humanistic mentalities of the great nations (Arabic, Islamic, Turkish, Israelis, Palestinians), boarding the Mediterranean Sea.
This is Done! We promise.
